Little known fact, Ty created multiple versions of the original Billionaire 1 bear released back in 1998. The regular (rare) Billionaire 1 bear is said to have had ~1400 examples made – with each Ty employee receiving two examples. The history, rarity, and pricing of this capstone piece is widely available on other sites. But it turns out that Ty made Billionaires for other Ty Inc. hubs in extremely limited quantities. Here we have the Canadian Billionaire. It has its own two-toned green fabric (Kicks fabric) and a dark hunter “dollar green” shaded emblem. These went out to top executives of Ty Canada. Something like this is so incredibly exciting. This isn’t a prototype. The hang and tush tag are both identical to those on the regular US Billionaire Bear, save for Ty’s unique numbering on the inside left bottom of the tag. He put in “1/3” – to designate that the pictured example here is the first of three bears created. Speaking of rarity…
Rarity Tier: ELITE GHOST RARE
Only three examples of this insanely rare piece were made, putting it at the rarer end of the extreme “Elite Ghost Rare” rarity tier. This is also the rarest/most limited piece that Ty officially signed and numbered (that has surfaced). With only three examples created, reviewing this piece is a real joy. So technically, to have a complete set of Billionaire Bears, is this piece needed? Hmm.
