This is the elusive and mythical UK Billionaire #1 Bear. Its story is similar to the Canadian Billionaire #1 bear – Ty released this piece in an extremely limited quantity to top executives of Ty UK. It is also signed and numbered out of three (!) and has an identical hang and tush tag to match the original US Billionaire 1 bear that was released. The two primary differences are the signed and numbered hang tag, and the physical coloring of this bear, which is said to be/resemble the fabric used for the 1999 signature bear. The chest emblem dollar sign $ appears to be a similar shade to the hunter dollar green used for the Canadian Billionaire bear’s emblem.
Rarity Tier: ELITE GHOST RARE
Like its Canadian counterpart, only three examples of the UK Billionaire were made, putting it at the rarer end of the extreme “Elite Ghost Rare” rarity tier. Along with its Canadian counterpart, this is the rarest/most limited piece that Ty officially signed and numbered (that has surfaced). A bit of either exciting or unfortunate news, only one UK executive has brought forward their bear at the time of this writing. The whereabouts of the other two are unknown. Maybe they will surface, or it is possible this is the lone surviving example. But this example would be deemed the finest, as the “#1” in the series. But to own any example of this piece would be a true prize.
