The original Billionaire #1 bear was released to Ty Employees on 9.26.1998. Several prototypes for this piece were made, but this one is perhaps our favorite, and most distinctive. A distinctive green sparkle nose paired with green ears, arms, and feet really make this piece pop. This piece still has the unique two-toned brown fur and green dollar sign that the original came with. It also has a mint pax swing tag and tush tag. The pax dates on the swing tag are 7.8.1998 – two months prior to the eventual release of the piece. This guy is a good example of Ty closing in on the final design he wanted.
Rarity Rank: 1.5-1.75. This is a terrific piece. A strong variation for a capstone/iconic piece in the hobby that is highly coveted even today. The piece itself is in pristine condition and really pops.
