Jerry Garcia Patch Emblem Ty Beanie Baby Teddy Bear: 3rd Gen

Ty was incredibly moved by Jerry Garcia. Upon Jerry’s passing, Ty came out with the famous Garcia bear that to this day is still among the most famous beanies in the line. Ahead of the production example’s release, he created six (6!) special Garcia Bears with an embroidered Jerry Garcia patch on the bear’s chest. Each of these “pre” Garcias has a 3rd generation hang tag signed by Ty, in addition to the embroidered logo. Each of these six bears was gifted to a charity that was near and dear to The Grateful Dead band, plus a donation. These were released the final week of August, 1995. Regular Garcia the bear was released in January of 1996.

Rarity Tier: GHOST Rare

With only six made, this is another production piece that is just about as good as it gets – It really doesn’t get much better. What we love about this piece is its age. It shows Ty released special promotional pieces that were extremely limited of early generation pieces, and of iconic styles. These Garcia bears are fiercely coveted not just for their rarity (1 of 6!), but also because Garcia is a focal style for many collectors. If you’re a Garcia collector, or a tie-dyed collector, a piece like this sets your collection into the stratosphere.
