Oooohhhhhhh. OK. So. This is another piece where you might immediately scream, PROTOTYPE (or, CAN’T BE REAL!). And honestly, this would be an INCREDIBLE prototype. But what we have here is so beyond insanely cool. Ty made SIX special promotional Valentino Teddies for the American Red Cross. He sent these examples with a donation, and offered these bears as additional prizes for upcoming charity events. The bear is a light pink fabric, and has a 2ND GENERATION UK hang tag, signed by Ty in gold ink. LIKE, WHAT? The bears were released in November of 1994 – a few months ahead of Valentino’s release in January of 1995.
Rarity Tier: GHOST Rare
Let’s break this down. Ty made only six of these. They are completely alternate colored fabric from what was produced. Finding a regular 2nd gen. Valentino is insanely rare, but a UK 2nd gen Valentino? And then make it this crazy limited piece? It’s really an insanity piece. This is one of our favorite pieces. Furthermore, this piece is OLD. Currently, this is the oldest “promotional” piece surfaced that Ty did. 1994 – this is really back to the very beginning of the hobby. It means Ty had special promotional charity production pieces from the onset of the beanie hobby.
