This is the famous lime green Slither prototype that resided with the Tyriffic yellow Nana prototype on Ty Warner’s bedroom dresser! There is a chance it was displayed at one point at the Tyriffic Store as well, but we’re still trying to locate photos. A fun fact- the Tyriffic Stores actually did not permit photos to be taken within the stores. This is why so few photos exist, with especially few from within the stores themselves.
This prized prototype is so absolutely striking. It pops – no wonder it was one of Ty’s favorites. It’s primary pax tag was removed – more indication that it may likely once have been displayed at the Tyriffic Store alongside yellow Nana. It’s a wild departure for a first generation piece.
Rarity Rank: -.5. The story behind this piece and it’s “pull” factor for all who see it, push this piece into really elite -.5 territory. An easily placed “0” rank piece – full alternate for a coveted 1st generation style. WILD style. Missing pax tags, but with such an incredible story…it doesn’t even matter. Possibly also Tyriffic. A piece many would love to have in their collection. And one that has proven notoriously difficult to let go of once an owner has the piece in person. If this Slither could talk…imagine the stories he overheard from his dresser perch.
