Ty’s first two cats in the beanie line were Nip and Zip – released with 2nd generation hang tags and with the signature old face. They were produced in gold and black respectively. Here we have, what we will call an old face Zip in solid LIGHT BLUE, with white belly/face etc. Complete with early 1993 pax hang tag date/ and all tags. This is almost two full years before Zip’s eventual release to market (1.7.95). There have been a few old face cat prototypes in full alternate colors discovered. This one is a superb example in a very vivid departure color.
Rarity Rank: 0/.5. A full departure for a 2nd generation released coveted style piece. Vivid color departure. You could argue this rank down to a .75/1 just given it is not the most popular style, and not a 1st generation piece. But this is such a neat and remarkable piece in such pristine condition. And it’s OLD. Close to the 1992 pax date golden period.
