This is such an incredible set. Coral Casino is one of the rarest and most expensive production beanies in the hobby. Past articles and other sites outline this piece’s history and rarity. The set here are the final remaining known Coral Casino prototypes. These are also the only known full color departure prototypes for this bear. There are 6 bears to the set, each complete with pax hang tag signed by Ty, and pax tush tag. The pax dates on this set are all identical, 8-12-01 – the production bear was eventually released on 11/9/01, putting this set’s age at about 3 months prior to release. The trio of prototype Coral Casino bears that were recently reviewed had slightly later pax tags (10-8-01), making this set the earliest dated Coral Casino prototypes that are known to have survived.
The set includes: lavender with red embroidery & ribbon, pastel blue with magenta embroidery & ribbon, pastel yellow with orange embroidery & ribbon, lime green with purple embroidery & ribbon, pastel tie-dyed with hunter green embroidery & ribbon, white with navy blue embroidery & ribbon.
Rarity Rank: -1. What more could you ask for from a prototype? These are full color departures, all pax tags, signed by Ty, for one of the rarest and most coveted special release bears. Very easy additions to the coveted -1 club. The bears still maintain their original integrity, but are clearly wild prototype departures. The set as a whole, together, is all the more impressive.
