We love this piece. This is an original prototype for Radar the bat – the first Ty bat beanie baby released with the 3rd generation mid-year releases. This piece originally surfaced via Pacmanbeanies – who sold the most spectacular prototypes from Ty executives just before proto gate in 2004. Two prototype Radars exist (that we have seen) – this one, and a similar one with equivalent departures in orange. This red version has all pax tags, red face, ears, and claws! This piece absolutely pops and was likely a serious contender in this color scheme for spooky season releases. The pax dates on this piece are from July 1995 – ahead of its 9/1 release date.
Rarity Rank: 1.75. This is a very well known piece – a wild and vivid departure for an iconic 3rd generation style. All pax tags, and originally sourced from and moved by senior executives/a reseller who moved *the* finest pieces in the hobby back in the day. We will review the orange counterpart shortly.
