Now, also in this set was of course the original prototype for STING the original 3rd generation stingray. This guy, also gifted to Bill Harlow (owner of Ty Canada) by Mr. Warner, has no pax tags, comes with tan fabric, and has a patch of the bronty blue fabric, that also became Sting’s. This matches the profiles of the other tie-dyed patch prototypes in the set.
Rarity Rank: 1.25. While Sting is not nearly as popular as the dino trio, flutter, or tie-dyed lizzy, he is still a fan favorite and iconic tie-dyed 3rd generation piece. Also, this guy looks SO COOL! Really grows on you. This guy fell into a black hole collection after its owner waited over a decade for the chance to secure him. Full departure piece with wow factor, with very famous provenance. Extremely early 2003 authentication grade matching when the rest of this prototype set was graded by True Blue Beans.
