Prototype Sting with white belly stingray beanie baby

Right on the heels of the solid tan Sting prototype, this is the famous white belly catalog Sting prototype example. Link to the white belly dino and lizzy set below. This Sting has production fabric up top, but a white belly underneath. Complete with pax tags – 11.11.1994 pax dates ahead of its June 1995 release. The 1995 mid year intro flyer (with the famous red Nana) has a number of prototype pieces with white bellies. This piece is much closer to the eventual production release (~ 6 months).

Rarity Rank: 1.75/2 A true prototype for a 3rd generation piece, but a minor departure from production. Very neat though to have a well documented prototype departure survive/pictured here. Most catalogs/flyers were filled with prototypes. If you look closely, you can see minor variations for most. Although the red and cream Nana remains the most significant departure prototype to make it into production looking so different from its late prototype stage.

1995 mid-year intro flyer. We see many prototype 3rd gens – red nana, stripes with solid body, tie-dyed Lizzy with white belly, and Sting with white belly.
